Welcome to Benito Juarez Elementary!
In a quiet neighborhood in the heart of Serra Mesa and Mission Village, overlooking SDCCU Stadium, Benito Juarez Elementary is a small, close-knit school with a strong sense of community. Families are drawn to our school for its outstanding academic programs, dedicated and highly trained staff—including bilingual administrative and support personnel—and our convenient location near Mission Valley and Kearny Mesa.
All Juarez students participate in our 90/10 Dual Language Program, which is designed to help them become bilingual, biliterate, and culturally aware learners.
Our small school size creates a warm, welcoming environment where students and families feel valued and supported. Parents are actively involved in their children’s education, contributing to special programs and events that enrich the learning experience. Our campus features beautiful grounds and spacious athletic fields thanks to a unique shared parkland agreement with the City of San Diego.
Diversity is at the heart of our school culture. With approximately 260 students, Juarez welcomes children from across the district—many through the School Choice Program and others from our local neighborhood.
Our mission is to strive for excellence in teaching and learning to ensure the success of every student. This aligns with the district’s goal of preparing students to lead and succeed. Through a well-rounded instructional program, we nurture each child’s potential as readers, writers, mathematicians, scientists, artists, and athletes. Our staff, families, and community work together to create a nurturing, student-centered learning environment. With focused, individualized, and small-group instruction, we are committed to continuous academic growth.
We also offer a range of extended learning opportunities. The YMCA provides free before- and after-school care for TK–5 students. English learners benefit from the Systematic English Language Development Program, and all students receive targeted small-group literacy instruction.
